Child of God, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, quilter, basket lover, amateur photographer, flower and vegetable gardener …….. some a little of who I am, some a lot of who I am, and all a part of me. When I started quilting several years ago, it sparked a passion in my creative side that I never knew existed. I fell in love with it from the very start. I love everything about it, from choosing the fabrics and designing the quilt until the time I finish the last stitch of the binding and everything in between.

Perking up

One of my true loves is my morning coffee.  Remember the Folger's coffee jingle?   The best part of waking up ....   Well, the best part is actually WAKING up and thanking the good Lord for another day.  Second in line is that first cup of coffee, the smell of it perking and then the first taste.  It is probably the simplest yet most enjoyed part of my day.  I have had several different coffee makers over the years, small to large, inexpensive to expensive, simple to not-so-simple.  As with most everything in my life as I get older, I realize that less is usually more.  Small trumps big.  Simple trumps complicated.  For nearly three years now I have perked my morning coffee on my stovetop.  The taste is far superior than any automatic drip coffee maker I have ever owned.  The aroma when it starts to perk is heavenly.  I got this one at Sportsman's Warehouse in their camping section of all places.  Best coffee around ......

  1. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I have that same percolator in my camping gear and I use it to heat the water for hot chocolate on cold mornings. : )

  2. Oh, sister
We are one in spirit, the Lord and coffee. I love the smell, the taste, holding the warm cup in my hands in the morning. Lately, my DH and I have been having espresso in the late afternoon. Heaven!!
    Love your blog
